Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Boudicca – outside of sickbay- John Fredericks -CEO/2O- 05:10) John approached the door to sickbay as it hissed open. Inside he could see several people both med techs and patients milling about. ~Nothing like organized confusion~ he thought sarcastically, ~I hope there weren’t too many people hurt over that explosion~. A young man in a medical wrap came over, "What's the problem Sir?" "It's my wrist, I either broke it or sprung it real good," John replied. "Let me check," the young man said as he pulled out a tricorder. "Yep, broke it, let me give you something for the pain right now but there are a few ahead of you right now in worse shape." The tech pulled a preloaded spray and pushed it against John's upper arm then gestured him to a seat, turned and went back to work. Slowly the pain started to ease off. He tapped his COMM badge. "Domini, I am going to be down here for a little while. Are things ok up there?" (Reply Domini) "Good, let me know if you need a hand, since one is all I seem to have available at the moment he added dryly," Fredericks out. (Reply Saim, any) (Posted By Kirk McClendon) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - SO -Lt. Dru Tagon - 0921) Tagon 's arrival on the bridge was never a surprise to anyone. His presence is most uncommonly felt, as his movement often made the deck plating vibrbrate. He stepped down to the command center and looked around. All he could see were junior officers. then he saw Bix sitting at the Ops station. "I will relieve you of command now Ensign," he said formally.y, "the swallows have come home to roost." "Yes sir, thank you sir," Bix replied, a little confused, and then she smiled slightly as if she thought Tagon might have made a joke. "I should tell you sir, that the cargogo transporter has been used by someone. It seems that they beamed themselves intoto an empty region of space. I have the science station looking into it, trying to figure out why they went there. I also asked security to try and figure out what happened. It's been pretty hard because everyone has been in that meeting." Tagon snorted as he stepped up to the security console. "Hard indeed. What was in the matter stream?" "Well Sir," Bix continued, "we're pretty sure that it was a sentient life form of some sort that beamed out there, the problem is that they never actually came back into one solid piece... their... atoms... were scattered all over that area instead. We just don't understand. It seems like a case of someone relieving their pain." He moved up to the security console and began tapping on the pannel. "Did anyone even notice the coordinate of the beam out point?" It didn't take him long to see where the transport had been made to. It was the same area where the probe had exploded. It wasn't a far stretch of the imagination to figure out who it was and what their intent was. Ease their pain, Bix had stated. Well, he supposed that was one way to put it. "Computer locate Ensign Onyx Kateb." [Ensign Kateb is not on board the Nimitz.] "Identify last know position of Ensign Kateb." [Ensign Kateb was last in cargo bay 1.] After that it wasn't much to check the transporter logs. He could see Kateb's traces in her efforts to turn off the transporter safe guards. He sighed deeply. "Cancel all the work on the incident Ensign Bix," Tagon ordered, "I've already solved the issue." (reply Bix) Tagon didn't say any more. If Bix cared enough she'd ask. It wasn't long after that the bridge crew returned. Tagon stepped up to the captain. "Captain Sash, if I could have a moment of your time." Sash raised an eyebrow. If Tagon were initiating a conversation it must be very important. He nodded and headed of to a private corner or the bridge. "What's on your mind Lt.?" "It is my unfortunate duty to inform you," Tagon began, "that Ensign Kateb has beamed herself out into space." The words didn't hit Sash at first. then they sank in like a lead weight in a pond. "Damn," he whispered more to himself. "And of course you're certain?" "Of course captain," Tagon assured him, "otherwise I would never have..." "...mentioned it, yes, yes of course." He was silent for a moment and Tagon stood still, wondering if he should leave the captain for a moment of privacy. Suddenly the big Angossian shook his head and looked up. "Thank Lt.," he said, "I appreciate you telling me, rather than just letting me read it in a report. Return to your duty station." "Aye, sir." Tagon turned back to the security console. He still had some work to do in finishing up the affairs of Lt. Commander Gideon. Looking at the security roster he hit his com badge. "Lt. Tagon to Ensign Seamus Wolfgaard, report to the bridge for tactical duty." As she had been impressed by its rather large CO. It was not that much bigger than Boudicca, but she could almost sense its extra space. She couldn't understand the tension of the men around her. Of course, her lack of understanding men was nothing new. The Nimtz crew went through their reports. They were most thorough. Then it came their turn, as Sash turned the floor over to West "Thank you sir." West stood up. "Greetings all, you know my staff. I am going to let Dr. Munroe start us off on this end and I will then let our ACEO finish things off." ~Me? First? Breath Maddie, breath.~ Maddie stood up and looked a little nervous. "Ummm... thanks. I... ummm... well, I have been working on where Captain Sevant may have been going before his disappearance. He recieved a message shortly before hand which was self erased. Then through a search of our computer system it is my contention that Captain Sevant recieve a message from . I hypothesise that he was going to meet with him. The problem is, there are no records of his current location. I'm not even sure if the man's still alive." She paused for a moment. "I was wondering if I could borrow your counselor, and perhaps with our own counselor, we'd be able to at least create a profile of this man and where he might be now. Also whose side he might be on." "That sounds like an excellent idea," Sash replied. "Perhaps your counselor could join us over here." (reply West) "I'll make the arrangements," Sash replied. "Counselor, your job is to work with Dr. Munroe and get that profile. I'll want it as soon as possible." And frankly, I view the entire Boudicca crew under suspicion, since their CO miraculously disappeared," Major Dorkin said harshly. Eva's brow rose and then she laughed, just as Captain Sash was stepping in between Spider and the pompous little pig. As the meeting ended, Eva caught the Nimitz MCO's attention before any could even stand. "You'd suspect your own boot of treason for not being where you remember it from the previous nights drunken stupor, Pork Chop," Eva said, eyeing Dorkin coldly. Then she looked over at the Nimitz's Counselor Ensign Harrison. "You might want to talk to Major Pork Chop here about his paranoid delusions." Then Eva rose and headed for the door. (Reply Dorkin iyw, Any) (Posted by Wes) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz, Cargo Bay 3, TAC/SC, Ensign {SG} Paul Casely, 0954) "I'm not sure the Boudicca's Combat Engineers are the best team for this operation, the Nimitz has officers and crew more then capable of this. And frankly, I view the entire Boudicca crew under suspicion, since their CO miraculously disappeared," Major Dorkin said perhaps a bit too harshly. Suddenly, Major Straton began laughing maniacally, just as Captain Sash was stepping in between Spider and Major Dorkin. As the meeting ended, Major Straton commanded the Nimitz MCO's attention, as well as the attention of all the other officers, before anyone could even stand. "You'd suspect your own boot of treason for not being where you remember it from the previous nights drunken stupor, Pork Chop," the Major said vemonously, she looked like a coiled viper, ready to strike. Then she cast a glance over at the Nimitz's Counselor Ensign Harrison and said patronizingly to him, "You might want to talk to Major Pork Chop here about his paranoid delusions." Then the Major imperiously rose and headed for the door. Paul felt his impression of the marines starting to sink even a bit further. They had certainly showed a lack of judgement on this mission... in fact, they'd shown that they were all pretty much insane. He had already been fairly certain that Major Straton was only knitting with one needle, now he had it confirmed, not that Major Dorkin had cast himself in a very favourable light either. With that, Paul addressed Lieutentant Commander West and Captain Sash. "Excuse me Sirs, that little display has me a bit concerned. For our plans to work and for us to be effective we have to be able to put aside petty personal differences. I'm suddenly unsure about the viability of a marine engineer to carry out their end of the mission. I know that they would be preferable due to their more specific training, but I'd like to suggest that the tactical, security and strategical operations divisions of the Boudicca and the Nimitz work together, we don't seem to have the same blatant difficulties," stated Paul. He hoped that he wasn't stepping on any toes, but the mission was important, getting Captain Sevant was important and these constant personality conflicts were impeding progress. (Reply West, Sash) "I understand Sirs, it is definitely preferable to have a combat engineer in this but, well... maybe we should just make sure that our teams are in place and ready in the event that the marines cannot put aside their personal difficulties to achieve our objectives," said Paul, "at least as a backup." "Must be something to do with being a marine. We'd better get a handle on those two before this gets out of hand." Suddenly Paul Casely was between them. He hoped that he wasn't stepping on any toes, but the mission was important, getting Captain Sevant was important and these constant personality conflicts were impeding progress. Sash looked at West to see if he wanted to handle this, but it was obvious that he wanted to deffer to Casely's own CO. "I understand your feelings Ensign, but I agree that this is best suited for a CE. They are better trained for this type of mission." "I understand Sirs, it is definitely preferable to have a combat engineer in this but, well... maybe we should just make sure that our teams are in place and ready in the event that the marines cannot put aside their personal difficulties to achieve our objectives," said Paul, "at least as a backup." "Back up plans are always useful," Sash replied. "I'll leave that to you. However, if this plan fails due to lack of cooperation with the marines, well, let's just say death would probably be a better option for them." "I will coordinate with the Lieutenant Skylynx and Lieutenant Commander K'ven immediately," stated Paul and walked towards the two officers. Sash smiled as his new TAC/SC walked away. "He tends to be a little overzelous, but he does have a point. I think we need to put an end to these posturing shinanigans before anyone else loses confidence in our joint mission." (reply West) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - StratOps - Sogh la' K'ven - 1125) K'ven fidgeted on the bridge ever since the meeting had finished. It was the first time that he had no input to what was going to happen and all he could do was watch. Those of lesser rank and lesser time in an ongoing military organization have actually decided a lot of what the two ships were going to do in rescuing this Captain Sevant. Ensign Casely and Lieutenant Gralen had done a great job in gathering very valuable information. This information was used to decide on a plan of action. Casely's assessment of the confrontation of the marines was right on the money, or at least K'ven had agreed with him. To have this plan work everyone had to put aside personal differences, as Casely so accurately stated, aside. They had to mesh as if they had been working together for a very long time not just on this mission. He hoped that the two in charge would take the suggestion that Casely offered at least a backup plan. In his rounds of the bridge stations, he had walked by Casely several times and each time he hesitated. He had wanted to say a few things to him, but, it was hard for a warrior to say such things which would make him look weak. Then he had gotten the nerve up, as warriors faced up to what made them nervous, to stop and talk to Casely. "It was brilliant work that you and Gralen did in gathering all that information. It made coming up with a plan of action much easier. Keep up the good work." K'ven said almost in a gruffy whisper then looked Casely in the eyes. "Repeat this to anyone, I will deny it and break you in half." K' ven smiled at the last showing his row of teeth that looked sharp enough to rip flesh and meat from ones bones. (reply from Casely, any) (posted by Frank) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - TAC/SC- Ensign {SG} Paul Casely - 1132) Paul was concentrating on his station, ensuring that things worked seamlessly. This was going to be quite complicated and he wanted to make sure he ran simulations taking every possible variable into consideration. "It was brilliant work that you and Gralen did in gathering all that information. It made coming up with a plan of action much easier. Keep up the good work." K'ven said almost in a gruffy whisper then looked Casely in the eyes. "Repeat this to anyone, I will deny it and break you in half." K'ven smiled at the last showing his row of teeth that looked sharp enough to rip flesh and meat from ones bones. Paul suppressed a chuckle and did his best not to smile. It was hard to know exactly how to react. "Sogh la' K'ven, I am honoured to receive these words from a warrior such as yourself. It is unnecessary for me to speak of them to anyone else as no honour could have been higher than hearing them directly from you," said Paul back in a sotto voice. (Reply K'ven iyw) Then he raised his voice and continued speaking to K'ven. "I'm glad you're here Sogh la' K'ven, I need your expertise. Can you look at this simulation. He did not inquire on the subject as to continue the conversation in that direction would invite unwanted ears hearing them. He grunted his reply to Casely and was about to walk away when Casely raised his voice and continued speaking. "I'm glad you're here Sogh la' K'ven, I need your expertise. He thought for a moment before continuing, "they know we had an antimatter explosion close to the ships. If I was them seeing only one torpedoe exiting, I would be very suspicious of it. Now if I saw, say, three or four of them and they were drifting I would probably not pay them too much attention. What do you think?" K'ven was surprised but thankful that Casely included him. He did have to ensure that they weren't detected and perhaps the small size and lack of technology in the tubes wouldn't be enough to throw off the enemy. There definitely was merit in K'ven's suggestion. "Well, they know we've suffered some losses as they've been monitoring our communications. They probably also know that there is little left of Lt. Commander Gideon to jettison," Paul paused for a moment thinking about Gideon, despite his problems with him Gideon had been a friend. Paul steeled himself and continued, "However, if we make it seem like a standard group of burial tubes it might make it more plausible. We target a couple in regions around but not towards the probe and then have one drift somewhat near it. We'll need to find a way to suppress the readings of life signs in the tube eminating from the occupant, however," replied Paul, "I do think that is a very helpful suggestion however." (Reply K'ven) "We will probably have to coordinate with medical officers on both ships to figure out how to rig the burial tube to suppress lifesigns, but I would guess there has to be a way," said Paul. "West here Ryko, what can I do for you?" he replied. "Permission to return to the Nimitz, sir, I've got something they may want to see," Ryko said hurriedly. "Permission granted, but please, don't take long, we need to get underway as soon as possible and be careful." "Thankyou, sir, Skylynx out." The channel closed, Trevan got up and walked over to each station making sure things were alright. Read-outs were online and everything was proceeding smoothly. "Are you sure about this?" she asked. "Yes, it is a positive identification," stated the young man. Dartena sighed, ~As if this ship hasn't seen enough grief on this day.~ "Ok... thank you. I'll take it from here," stated Dartena and she began to walk towards Captain Sash. This would not be pleasant, but it had to be done. He had to be told and then he could deal with it how he saw fit. She crossed to the CO and looked at him. "Ummm... sir, I have something to report. I'm sorry," she replied handing him the PADD. (Reply Sash) Dartena lowered her voice so only Sash could hear, "Well, sir. When you were in the meeting a transporter effect took place. He had hoped that there wouldn't be that much preperation for suych a mission, after all, what they were doing was simply a ruse, to give them a a little advantage. The advantage wouldn't last for long, once they were detected on any long range sensors. The good news was, if the Boudicca remained under cloak, they would only detect one ship coming. He also realized that they were waiting for some more information on the man that Sevant was supposedly to have been going to meet. It was so like Sevant to take on something like that without informing anyone. He would have thought that with the Vulcan's history that he would have considered the option that it was a trap. "Ummm... sir, I have something to report." Bix interrupted the captain's thoughts. "I'm sorry," she said handing him the PADD. Sash took the PADD and scanned it. "What have you got here, Ensign?" Dartena lowered her voice so only Sash could hear, "Well, sir. When you were in the meeting a transporter effect took place. Someone beamed off the Nimitz and into an empty region of space. K'ven thought about what Casely proposed and he agreed, they needed to suppress the readings of life signs for the plan to work also. He had left enough open on the idea for Casely to run with it and that made him happy. Casely was proving himself to be a very valuable member of the ships crew as was Gralen. K'ven may have not taken to a lot of the crew at first and they may have not taken to him, but, he had been feeling them out to see just what they could do. "We will probably have to coordinate with medical officers on both ships to figure out how to rig the burial tube to suppress life signs, but I would guess there has to be a way," said Paul. K'ven asked then waited as he saw Casely's attention waver as he watched Ensign Bixx cross the room to the Captain. He noticed that the conversation was a silent one in which Sash 's face grew hard to what he heard. (Casely) "Very well, we shall wait for the Doctor then." K'ven replied then walked down to Sash. He was a bit concerned as to what made Sash look the way he had before he had regained his stoic look he maintained. "HoD, is it appropriate to ask what has transpired?" K'ven asked in his normal gruff voice, but, he had lowered it a bit. "No... that's fine for now, thank you for your help," stated Paul absently. "Very well, we shall wait for the Doctor then." K'ven replied then walked down to the Captain. With that Paul looked back to his console and called to Doctor Gralen. "Excuse me, Doctor Gralen? This regulation 46A thing is a bit of a pain. Is there anyway we can encode and send transmissions to the Boudicca without the probe catching the information? Any suggestions?" Holis thought for a second as he got up from his chair and walked over to the station Paul was working at. "The trick of course is to send a directed beam transmission rather than a general hail." He leaned over the board and began configuring the communication control for a narrow beam focus that was aided by the targeting computer to hold the lock after Holis had inputted the coordinates of the Boudicca. "Also of course you would want to use variable frequency and encrypt it for a 52nd Fleet code in case it is intercepted, were it to be somehow snitched it could be broken down but long after we are finished with our mission hopefully. I don't have access to those since I'm not in the tactical line but I know you can set one up." If he were on board his own ship he could be getting the doctor there to work on the biosupression items. It was almost like Skylynx hadn't been at the briefing, but he was sure he'd seen him there. "I'll stay here for the time being, help you reprogram the probes. But as soon as that encoder is finished, I'll need to speak to Lt Stolev on Boudicca," Ryko finished. "You don't seem to understand, Sir. We aren't reprogramming the probes. We're running ships simulations, something you'll have to do on the Boudicca as well. The only one who can reprogramme the probe is the engineer that gets sent to the probe. It was all covered in the briefing. We really need to get going on this. If the Boudicca isn't ready to go with her own simulations, as she's the ship going in cloaked to fire the main tube, we're never going to get this done in time. Honestly, sir, there isn't anything you can do here. I'm sorry," stated Paul. (reply Skylynx, K'Ven, Holis, Any) (Posted by Jeff) Stardate:2406.11.25 USS Nimitz- Bridge - CSO Gralen - 1154) While Paul was working on the communications link with the Boudicca Holis saw someone move up beside him out of the corner of his eye. "No need," Hollis recognized him as Skylinx from the Boudicca. "I'm right here," he said, "and I have something you guys might want to see." Paul took the PADD and glanced at it then shrugged his shoulders. "I don't see anything that we haven't seen before here, Sir. We're losing time Lieutenant. We have to get our ships ready to carry out the mission. It would really be more useful to us if you were on the Boudicca getting things ready. We don't have much time and if we screw up we can't do it again." Holis held out his hand. "May I look at it please?" He took the PADD and looked it over thoroughly then looked at Skylinx with a quizzical expression on his face. "Lieutenant I analyzed the readings of the wreckage from the scans Paul was taking and had them broken down several hours ago, as a matter of fact I forwarded them to the Boudicca so that the science crew there could see them, did they never get them? We have been working off of this information for some time now, the fact that the weapon used was standard Federation phasers as my findings indicated have led us to the search we are now embarking on as well as the researches I did to track the vessel. Do you have any up-to-date information to add to what we have already discussed or is this the latest data you have?" Holis wasn't trying to be rude or arrogant though he might have come off that way, he was shocked that they were still discussing something that had already been laid to bed or so he thought. (Reply Skylynx) "Lieutenant Commander K'ven has suggested that we have several 'burial tubes' shot off to reflect the number of dead from the blast. On one of the tubes we'll place the person who is going to reprogramme the probe computer. It seems to be an excellent idea. You were in the briefing, correct?" Paul added with a questioning intonation. (Reply Skylynx) "Doctor Gralen, could you keep working on that problem I gave you please? I'd appreciate it as we're still going to have to communicate in code with the Boudicca until we reprogram the probe behind the nebula," Paul said. Holis frowned and looked down at the console. "Did my commands not take? Oh! I see what you mean, I have to initialize the tracking system to continually update itself, no problem." Holis moved in and set to work immediately. (Reply: Casely, Skylinx, any) (Posted by Charles) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - AOPS - Ensign {SG} Dartena Bixx - 1155) "Thank you Ensign," Sash told her. "I suppose she just couldn't go on without Commander Gideon. Funny, she went all of those years with out him. I have a general idea how she felt. It's never easy to lose someone that you feel bound to, body and soul. But to lose them twice. Thank you Ensign. Return to your post and let me know when Boudicca is set." "Yes sir," said Dartena crinkling her nose and dropping her voice again, "You could just ask that fellow talking to Ensign Casely, isn'the from the Boudicca? Ensign Casely doesn't look very happy though... oh well..." Dartena wondered if Casely had a temper... if he did, he might have a big marine come onto the bridge and stun the officer from the Boudicca. She grinned thinking about them transporting the unconcious officer back to the Boudicca. (Reply Sash iyw) With that, Dartena flounced back to her station. She still didn't really see what the big deal was about Ensign Kateb, but knew that she had to behave a certain way among other species. It was just natural to take your life when you felt like you had no hope. She got back to her station and looked at her board... nothing coming in from the Boudicca. Of course, they were still under that silly regulation anyway. She started checking systems and waiting for the Boudicca to tell them they were ready to impliment their part of the plan. (Reply any if you want) (posted by Jeff Bergeron) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - TAC/SC - Ensign {SG} Paul Casely - 1156) Holis frowned and looked down at the console. "Did my commands not take? Oh! I see what you mean, I have to initialize the tracking system to continually update itself, no problem." Holis moved in and set to work immediately. Paul looked at Holis. He was definitely gaining respect regularly for this CSO, he had proved invaluable to the misson at hand. Paul smiled and lowered his voice slighly, "Thanks a lot Holis. I couldn't do this without you." (Reply Holis) Paul transferred the mission information and ideas into Skylynx's PADD, handed it to him and then set back to work on his simulations, this time adding K'ven's multiple tube idea. It seemed to provide more cover. He hoped that the CMO would show up soon. That lifesign shielding technology would prove invaluable. He supposed he could contact the CMO of the Boudicca himself, but would rather have another doctor coordinate with them. It was hard enough to understand what Holis was talking about at times and he understood that branch of science somewhat, Paul had no idea about biology or xenobiology. ~We just need to get a few more pieces of the puzzle put in place and we'll be good to go,~ thought Paul. (Reply Holis, any) (Posted by Jeff) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge -CSO Gralen, Ensign (sg)- 1157) "Thanks a lot Holis. I couldn't do this without you." Holis looked up at the human with a bit of a pleased though perplexed look and answered just as quietly. "You're welcome Paul, anytime." Then turned back to the console as Paul began working on the PADD. (Reply: Skylinx, Casely, any) (Posted by Charles) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz- Bridge - StratOps - Sogh la' K'ven - 1158) K'ven had only been nominally listing to the conversation that Lieutenant Skylynx and Ensign Casely was having. His ears did perk up when he had overheard the part that contained the comment about Klingons. He put his attitude in check as he did not want Sash to become upset with him once again. He became increasingly agitated at what was being insinuated and he was having a hard time holding his anger in check. He could not understand why this Lieutenant was deliberately insulting the honor of Klingons while one was within striking distance. Apparently this Lieutenant was tired of living. "I'm not saying there wasn't a federation starship present. All I'm saying is there may have been Klingons there as well. Perhaps the shuttle had been battling this enemy too," Ryko offered. "Or, the klingons have managed to get ahold of federation phaser technology. But at the rate of molecurisation, I would definitely say that a Polaron Torpedo was fired on this vessel. I don't know who by, all I have is a hunch," Ryko said in answer to K'Ven's puzzled and slightly insulted look. "We need to find these b******s and get some answers," Ryko said. "Question is, how." he said, more as a statement as a question. "Lieutenant Commander K'ven has suggested that we have several 'burial tubes' shot off to reflect the number of dead from the blast. On one of the tubes we'll place the person who is going to reprogramme the probe computer. It seems to be an excellent idea. You were in the briefing, correct?" Paul added with a questioning intonation. "Of course, I was sitting right in front of you guys," Ryko said. "But if you're thinking of a covert insertion, i might suggest keeping the probe's on-board deflector system. You'll need to use a mark 3 torpedo casing, but it would work. Having said that, our opponent IS mechanical. It probably couldn't tell the difference between a coffin and a torpedo." Ryko sighed. "Plus there's the danger that it's intercepting ship-to-ship transmissions..." "Doctor Gralen, could you keep working on that problem I gave you please? I'd appreciate it as we're still going to have to communicate in code with the Boudicca until we reprogram the probe behind the nebula," Paul said. Holis frowned and looked down at the console. "I'll stay here for the time being, help you reprogram the probes. But as soon as that encoder is finished, I'll need to speak to Lt Stolev on Boudicca," Ryko finished "Lieutenant Skylynx, you have stated what you think happened, but, you have not stated all the alternatives. One big one is that maybe, IF there had been Klingons here, they might have been firing on the ship that took your Captain." K'ven growled at Ryko, "I believe also that it is time that you retreat to your ship and finish YOUR work there. OUR people are capable of doing what needs to be done here." K'ven walked toward him a few steps before stopping as he felt the eyes of Sash in the back of his head. (Reply Ryko, Casely, Gralen, Sash, any) (posted by Frank) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz- Bridge - StratOps - Sogh la' K'ven - 1200) "Don't start. We're friends. I won't fight you, Sogh'la," he said quietly, "Not now, not ever. What kind of image would that bring to your father? His best student and his own son?!" Ryko said in the same quiet tone. K'ven was still fuming and could not go any further or he knew that he would bring forth the wrath of his HoD. This he was not willing to do at this time. "You dare bring the name of my father into this, after you have insulted not only him but the entire empire?" K'ven growled, "You are no longer worthy to be called his student, petaQ!" K'ven had stopped and stared as Ryko continue, "I never meant to insinuate anything with that theory, and I will admit that I overlooked one possibility. I apologise," Ryko said. "If we must we can settle this in a different manner, but NOT NOW." Ryko said sternly. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to Boudicca." "Yes you DO need to get back to your ship and we will settle this at another time." K'ven said in a very intense deep throated growl. Then he watched Ryko as he said a few things before getting into the turbolift heading for the transporter room. After a moment, K'ven turned to Sash, "I..... apologize....... HoD,, but sometimes you need to carry out the.... trash." He then returned to the FO chair where he had occupied several times that morning. (reply Ryko(ifw), Casely, Gralen, Sash, any) (posted by Frank) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz- Bridge - CO - Captain devan Sash - 1201) Sash stood back and watched. He was truely beginning to wonder about the Boudicca's crew. Their CO had been missing less than 24 hours and they were alreading showing signs of the stress. However, since the issue Skylynx was having was mainly with his StratOps officer, he thought it best to let him handle it, as long as no weapon was drawn. Of course,. at this moment that was not so certain. "Yes you DO need to get back to your ship and we will settle this at another time." K'ven said in a very intense deep throated growl. Sash watched as Skylynx made his way to the turbo lift. He could see the restraint the man made not to look back. After a moment, K'ven turned to Sash, "I..... apologize....... HoD,, but sometimes you need to carry out the.... trash." Sash had to work at not chuckling out loud. "I'm just glad that the trash was able to walk himself out." "Captain Sash, Sogh la' K'ven, I believe that once the Boudicca gets it in gear, we'll be able to do this," stated Paul, "We need a medical officer to get that lifesign supressor ready though." "Is that not taken care of yet?" Sash was incredulous. "I can't flaming believe it. Waht is it going to take to get that ship in gear. What exactly are we waiting for?" "I've sent the data across on the closed data stream Doctor Gralen created. Its solved a lot of problems with following regulations," said Paul, "I have teams ready to go if we need them, I just need to check the readiness of our weapons systems both personal and shipwide. I want to be ready for anything." Paul said as he started working his controls to coordinate his people. "K'ven," he almost growled, "get me Lt. Commander West, now. (reply K'ven, West, Casely) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz- Bridge - TAC/SC - Ensign {SG} Paul Casely - 1205) Paul watched the exchange between K'ven and Skylynx. It suddenly became crystal clear that the Lieutenant had no idea as to how to deal with a Klingon, or how diplomacy worked. He shook his head. ~Oh well, if you run with the wolves, you'd better not fall,~ he thought to himself considering the future battle that could take place between the Strat Ops Officer and the Boudicca TAC/SC. ~Best not even bring it up,~ he thought, supressing an urge to cheer K'ven's name aloud as he watched the Lieutenant exit. "Captain Sash, Sogh la' K'ven, I believe that once the Boudicca gets it in gear, we'll be able to do this," stated Paul, "We need a medical officer to get that lifesign supressor ready though." Paul knew that the item would be instrumental to the overall plan and with the Nimitz's doctors completely tied up with the blast in the morning it might be up to the doctors on the Boudicca to create the needed item. "Captain Sash, Sogh la' K'ven, I believe that once the Boudicca gets it in gear, we'll be able to do this," stated Paul, "We need a medical officer to get that life sign suppressor ready though." "Is that not taken care of yet?" Sash was incredulous. "I can't flaming believe it. What is it going to take to get that ship in gear. What exactly are we waiting for?" K'ven was also a bit irritated that the doctor he called had not arrived. He would have to put the good Doctor Kincaid on report or at least find out what the reason was that he had not arrived in optimal time. Doctor Kincaid should have at least sent word he was going to be late or sent his assistant. Now it was too late, they had to enlist the help from the Boudicca CMO. "I've sent the data across on the closed data stream Doctor Gralen created. Turning to Operations, he looked at Bixx which stood aside and K'ven tapped into the data stream that Casely had been using. He knew that Sash wanted to talk to West without the necessary coding. "Nimitz to Boudicca, Captain Sash wants to talk to Lt. Commander West, ASAP" He informed them as he made connection with the tight beam. The viewer switched to a picture of the Captain and he didn't look happy. (reply Sash) "Understood sir," Trevan muted the Audio, "Bridge to Dr. Munroe please report to the Nimitz on the double. They need help with their life sign suppressor." Trevan resumed the audio, "Captain sir, our CMO is on her way over to you now. As for the probe itself, we were prepared to disembark and follow the trail and with all due respect sir, I would like to leave as soon as it's possible." Mor'rel read the message carefully and considered the content. ~Yes, it should be possible.~ "Doctor Mor'rel to Doctor Ellen Farley, please bring the following items to me immediately," he said as he keyed a list of different items to be transmitted to her PADD. (Reply Ellen) "It would seem, doctor, that we must supress lifesigns for some crew members. We must quickly build the device necessary, time is of the essence, please hurry," stated Mor'rel, "Mor'rel out." The CMO immediately set to work planning the device. If a biolife monitor could be used and the signals reversed, he could probably hide lifesigns. It should be a relatively simple matter. As he was mid thought, Ellen arrived with the necessary parts. (Reply Ellen) "You will assist me please," stated Mor'rel as he began building the supressor, "Please hand me a micro spanner and a gel diode." (Reply Ellen) "I would also appreciate it if you could bring up the biobed specifics on that computer, my hands are a little full," stated Mor'rel. (Reply Ellen) "Thank you Doctor," said Mor'rel as they continued to work. Eventually the pair had constructed the proper invention and was ready to mass produce them. Mor'rel then turned to his console and brought up the frequency and band of the transmission he had received from the Nimitz and sent a message back on the same frequency. "Bio-suppressors ready, production underway, Mor'rel out." (Reply Ellen Farley, any) (Posted by Jeff Bergeron) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Boudicca - Marine Holodeck - CE - Bubba Johnson and Lt. Drizzt - 1250) Bubba floated in the vaccum of space. He had always enjoyed the sensation of weightlessnes. It's what led him to his specialty of EVA missions. His nimble body and quick mind were an asset to. With a name like Bubba, he'd always had to fight the stereotypes that were often put upon him. For some reason the name Bubba always gave people the impression that he was a dumb hick, only good for hauling hevy equipment. If it had been up to his parents, that's exactly what he would have been doing, on some farm. No, that wasn't for Bubba Johnson. His mind reached for the stars, and the only way that his body could follow was to sign up for the military. His parents didn't have the funds, nor the background to even understand his needs, to send Bubba to Starfleet Academy. So the marines were the next best option. It completely pissed off his parents. They felt he was abandoning them. The truth was, he was never really with them on the farm. He was more of a prisoner there. He hoped that they'd eventually understand. But he doubted it. They're mentality was to limited to what the needs of the farm were. He had plenty of brothers and sisters to take up the slack. Perhaps that's why he tried so hard at everything he did. He neprove to his parents that he had made the right choice for himself. And now, he was a CE. The elite or the corp, with a specialty in EVA missions and electronics. He was special indeed. Although, he didn't feel too special right now. After two straight hours of training, his body was covered in sweat, and his eyes were beginning to hurt. His fingers were beginning to fumble a little. He wanted to ask for a short break, but knew better than to ask that of Lt Drizzt. The last thing he needed right now was to have him under his skin. Besides, what they were doing was too important to baby out now. Bubba shook his head and refocused. He felt his fingers become more flexible again, in the gloves and completed the sequence to reprogram the probe. "Time?!" he called out. "Lt. I think that's about as good as it's gonna get in here. It'll probably go faster out there, since I'll be on the edge." Spider picked his helmet up and brought the mic to his lips, "Drizzt to tactical team, to the primary torpedo launchers immediatly." He shouldered his weapon, "Let's move then, Reverend." he said as the doors to the holodeck opened and the rest of the CE team departed. Spider cracked his neck and stepped through with everyone else as they headed to the Marine transporters, where the rest of the team would be showing up. "Yes sir," Bubba said, as the holodeck program ended suddenly and Bubba had to twist his body to land on his feet. He could see a little evil smirk on the MXo's face. He liked to keep Bubba on his toes. He was sure that he wasn't convinced of his worthiness to be amoungst them. Bubba ran to catch up with the others, shuddering at the referance to his name. Drizzt liked to give everyone nicknames. The Andorian had decided to call him Reverend, because of his background. Some of the others shortened it to Rev. He was not amused. Whenhe caught up with the Lt he didn't give him the satisfaction of knowing his irritation. "We're as ready as we're gonna be LT." (Boudicca - Main Torpedo Room - Drizzt, Bubba - 1305) There were only three CE's going along, plus the tactical officers from Boudicca and Nimitz. In the mean time, the rest of the CE's had been checking over the Marine Boarding Torpedoes that had been pulled up from storage, each had checked out nicely. The Boarding torpedo, also known as the Martini Shaker of Death, was nothing more then a torpedo shell hollowed out with just enough thrusters installed so that it could be directed. "Alright, boys and girls." he said to the non-Marines. "Just let me control your tubes, the computer will direct you. Don't touch any of the controls, don't break computer contact, and don't freak out." His antenna twitched as he looked at them. "Understood?" Bubba could here the tentative "Yes, sirs, from the joint tactical team of Boudicca and Nimtiz, which had become known quickly as the Boumitz team. Bubba finished his check and then went around to look at the tubes of the Boumiters. Everything checked out. He stepped over to Drizzt. "All is ready sir," he said. "I'm still not certain about have non-marines on this mission LT, but mine is not to reason why." "Alright, load up!" He watched the group break apart and head to a torpedo, where the CE's being left behind helped them load up and sealed them in. He picked the first torpedo in line and gave a thumbs up, the CE returned it and sealed him in. Once there, a small red light turned on, giving him enough illumination to see by (assuming his helmet hadnt had infra-red capibiity.). "Alright," he whispered. He hated these things. "Drizzt to Boudicca, we're ready for firing." He noticed the Klingon looking at him and he simply nodded his approval. "Open channel once again." K'ven said. "This is Sogh la' K'ven, State who you are and your business in this area." K'ven stated in his gruff manner. =^= I am your new ACEO Lt Lichfield. Permission to come aboard and report into the captain and Senior officers=^= Sash and K'ven both looked at each other. This was a hell of a time to be recieving a new crewman, although they surely needed another engineer. Then the name struck him. Where had he heard that name before. Again, he nodded. "Very well, we are sending you our docking procedures. Follow them to the letter or be destroyed. Once aboard, report to the bridge." K'ven ordered. =^= Thank you Vegra Flyer out =^= "Ms. Bix, please contact the Boudicca and inform them of our incoming craft. We wouldn't want them to blast him out of space now, would we?" K'ven instructed the Lieutenant as he extended his hand. Lichfield then turned to Sash. Sash nodded but did not extend his hand. "Lt. Lichfield, your orders please." Lichfield handed over his PADD and Sash scrutinized the orders thoroughly before speaking. He determined that they were indeed genuine, and then finally noticed why he recognized the name. He was formerly of the USS Cochrane. "Lt.," Sash said, "please join me in my ready room." He turned and headed for the door, with Lichfield in tow. (USS Nimitz - Ready Room- CO - Captain Devan Sash - 1255) Whent he door closed behind them, Sash indicated for Lichfield to sit in the seat by his desk. Then he sat on the edge of his desk. He looked over the PADD once again, leaving Lichfield in an uncomfortable silennce. "Well, Lt," he finally said, looking down at him, "your timing is immaculate. If you had arrived much later we would have been gone. As it is, I'm not sure how you knew where we were. But you're here nonetheless, and everything seems to be in order." (reply Lichfield) "I thought thought that your name was familiar. You were a former command officer on the USS Cochrane. Captain Lowell spoke highly of you. I hope that I can expect the same level of service here on the Nimtz." (reply Lichfield) "Excellent. I'm going to be blunt with you Lt," Sash stated. "I'm a little concerned that a former bridge officer is returning to the ranks. I'm not certain as to the reason for this,hHowever I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Right now, I have filled most of my command staff, however, I might be willing to share some responsibilities, but I have to see what I am getting here. To be honest, the Cochrane had, most conspicuously, managed to stay out of the main foray of the war effort. The Nimitz, on the other hand, is a front lines ship. We have been, and are heading back into, the fight, and I'm conerned about your lack of combat experience. Basically, I've been asked to put my life, and the lives of my crew, in the hands of someone I barely know. But, once again, I'm willing to give you that benefit of doubt. Show me what you are capable of, and at the end of this mission, we may talk about command again. If that is what you wish?" (reply Lichfield) "Good." Sash tapped his com badge. "Ensign O'Neill, can you join me in my ready room?" O'Neill came into the room, and Sash stood up."Ensign O'Neill, this is Lt. Lichfield. As the turbolift started to move more the two began to talk more. "So, you did a Port Star Burst at the Lunar Academy? I had a friend that almost did that once, barely got back alive." "I almost got expelled for it but due to what did they call it 'my constant ability shown' they let me off barely. What happened to him?" asked Lichfield "Well, when they got his ejected cockpit back to Earth, he was expelled from the Academy, and as far as I know, he's still on Earth, I think he's a restaurant owner. Well, here we are, Main Engineering, the heart of the Nimitz...body...thing, yeah. There's Zzt, let's pay him a visit."said O'Niell They walked over to Zzt, who was working a panel. "Sir?" Zzt turned around. "This is our new ACEO, Lt. Lichfield. The Captain wanted you to meet him." "Good Afternoon Sir." said Lichfield putting his case to one side and then extending his hand to shake Zzt's hand. He hadn't really considered that he'd be along for the ride. The environmental suit was not in the least comfortable, but he had done zero-G training in the Academy and had done fairly well. He looked at what would definitely be cramped confines in terms of the torpedo tubes and swallowed hard again. He picked up the biosuppressor system and strapped it on as the Andorian marine officer began to speak. "Alright, boys and girls." he said to the non-Marines. "Just let me control your tubes, the computer will direct you. Don't touch any of the controls, don't break computer contact, and don't freak out." His antenna twitched as he looked at them. "Understood?" "Yes Sir," answered Paul. He would have to trust that these people knew what they were doing. Then he heard one of the marine engineers speak. "All is ready sir," he said. "I'm still not certain about have non-marines on this mission LT, but mine is not to reason why." ~Maybe because we are the ones who discovered the probe and figured out how it works?~ thought Paul. "Alright, load up!" Paul climbed into one of the tubes and held his thumb up. He was ready as he'd ever be. Once sealed inside he saw a red light illuminate inside his helmet. This was going to be a bumpy ride. The shuttle was a mess he had been lent it by Vegra some time ago. ~I better tidy this mess up~ Thought Lichfield as he got up he spoke to the computer his only company for the past two weeks. "Computer how long till we intercept the USS Nimitz." Asked Lichfield [There are 2 hours until we intercept the USS Nimitz] "Thank you" Said Lichfield. Lichfield then walked to the back area and started packing his cloths ~Whats left of my life.~ Lichfield picked up his suitcase ~my cloths...~ Lichfield put it down... ~A picture of my old office and another of the Cochrane~ said Lichfield picking them up along with various other mementos including a present of the counsellor Rose... it was some AL Eurin remembrance beads to remember her and her friendship by and another present off the cochrane captain...Captain Lowell this present has hidden meaning it was her entire collection of Borg artifacts according to her she would not need them were she was going. (Vegra Flyer, Shuttle Bridge, ACEO LT Lichfield- 1251) Lichfield walked back into the bridge he had eaten lunch and packed his stuff up. [Approaching the Nimitz] =/\= This is the Federation shuttle Vegra Flyer please respond USS Nimitz.=/\= (reply Nimitz) =/\= I am your new ACEO Lt Lichfield. Permission to come aboard and report into the captain and Senior officers=/\= (Reply Nimitz) =/\= Thank you Vegra Flyer out =/\= Lichfield set the auto docking procedure and let the computer dock ~ hmmm Might as well do something interesting~ Thought Lichfield.... Lichfield went and picked up his suitcase and stood by the flyer door waiting for it to open. "Good afternoon master of the boat. ACEO Lt Lichfield reporting in to the USS Nimitz along with a personal craft the Vegra Flyer." Said Lichfield "Welcome aboard sir... Please make your way to the bridge were you will find most of the senior officers." Said the Master Chief Petty officer. "Thank you." Lichfield winked and walked off with his case. ~This Lichfield should be interesting~ Thought the chief. (USS Nimitz, Main Bridge, ACEO LT Lichfield- 1300) Lichfield walked onto the bridge and immediately saw the captain and first officer walking around. He manged to stand in front of them... He did not know what he was looking for, but, if anything out of the ordinary happened he would see it, he hoped. That is why when the comm chirped with a message incoming, he was startled a bit then tried to recover and hoped no one noticed. He looked over at operations giving the signal to open the channel. =/\= This is the Federation shuttle Vegra Flyer please respond USS Nimitz.=/\= K'ven was skeptical as to whether or not this shuttle was friend or foe. He motioned for Ops to put the channel on hold. He wanted to know where the shuttle was actually assigned, whether the 52nd or the enemy fleet. "Is the Shuttle Vegra Flyer assigned to the 52nd?" He asked and the crew member at operations started running through ship designations. (Ops) "Very well, Be ready to signal them with our docking procedure, on my mark, and ... " K'ven was saying then stopped to look at Sash to ensure that he was not overstepping his boundary. (Sash) "open channel once again." K'ven said as Sash finished "This is Sogh la' K'ven, State who you are and your business in this area." K'ven stated in his gruff manner. =/\= I am your new ACEO Lt Lichfield. Permission to come aboard and report into the captain and Senior officers=/\= K'ven looked at Sash to see what he wanted to do with this individual, which, peaked his interest. (Sash) "Very well, we are sending you our docking procedures. Follow them to the letter or be destroyed. Once aboard, report to the bridge." K'ven ordered adding in his threat seeing the situation they were in, he did not want to take too many chances. =/\= Thank you Vegra Flyer out =/\= (USS Nimitz - Bridge - StratOps - Sogh la' K'ven - 1302) K'ven and Sash had gotten up to walk around the bridge as they waited for Lt. Lichfield to arrive. They were discussing different things that could or could not come up during the mission that was unfolding when the Lieutenant exited the turbolift. They both turned to watch him walk up to them. "Good Morning captain... Commander....ACEO Lt Lichfield Reporting for duty." Said Lichfield "I am Sogh la', Lieutenant and in Starfleet that would be the equivalent of Lieutenant Commander. Welcome aboard." K'ven instructed the Lieutenant as he extended his hand, then waited for Sash to finish with the Lieutenant. K'ven had seen some of the crew do this and thought maybe it would help smooth over some of the gruffness he confronted people with. It felt odd doing so and in a sense it felt wrong, but, he was not sure if it was his training or what he understood of Starfleet. We may be having a funeral soon, that's as social as it's going to get for a while, I'm afraid. You'll have to meet with the rest of the crew the old fashioned way." "Thank you sir." Lichfield then gave him a wink. Sash let it go but had to wonder. ~Good lord, Alexandra Lowell, what have you given me?~ (reply none) (posted by Al Muir)
